1. Commitment to Open Data

The Herald of Advanced Information Technology supports the principles of open science, transparency, and reproducibility. Authors are encouraged to make research data publicly available whenever possible.

2. Data Availability Statement

All submitted manuscripts must include a Data Availability Statement describing whether and how the underlying data can be accessed.

Examples of acceptable statements include:

  • “The datasets generated during the current study are available in the [repository name] repository, [DOI/link].”
  • “The data supporting the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.”
  • “No new data were created or analyzed in this study.”

3. Recommended Data Sharing Practices

Authors are encouraged to:

  • Deposit datasets in trusted public repositories;
  • Provide persistent identifiers (DOI or equivalent);
  • Use FAIR data principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable);
  • Describe data collection and processing methods clearly.

4. Exceptions and Restrictions

Data sharing may be restricted in cases involving:

  • legal or regulatory limitations;
  • ethical concerns or participant confidentiality;
  • commercial or proprietary restrictions;
  • funding or contractual obligations.

In such cases, authors must clearly justify the restriction in the Data Availability Statement.

5. Review and Transparency

Editors and reviewers may request access to underlying data during the peer review process to verify results and ensure research integrity.

6. Data Preservation

The journal encourages long-term preservation of research data in reliable repositories to ensure future accessibility and reproducibility.
