Review process

The journal “Herald of advanced Information Technology” accepts articles that correspond to the topics of the journal and contain the results of original scientific research of a theoretical and methodological nature. Within 5 working days from the date of receipt of the article by the editorial office, the Editor-in-Chief of the journal performs an examination of the manuscript for compliance with the main requirements and topics. Materials that do not correspond to the subject matter or requirements of the publication may be rejected by the Editor-in-Chief with no involvement of experts. To assess the quality of submitted manuscripts, the editorial board uses double-blind peer-review.

The Editorial Board maintains world standards for the transparency of the peer review process, and therefore practices double-blind reviewing of manuscripts: the author and the reviewer are not told the names of each other. Previously, all their personal data is removed from the texts of articles and file properties.

Articles submitted to the journal “Herald of advanced Information Technology” is sent for review to two independent experts. The choice of an independent expert is determined by the Editor-in-Chief, taking into account the thematic focus of the submitted materials.

Reviewing of articles is carried out by the Editorial Council members, specializing in scientific areas corresponding to the topic of the article.

Reviewing of articles is carried out on a voluntary and pay-free basis. Independent experts are selected from among persons who have a scientific degree not less than a Candidate of Sciences and who do not have scientific, financial or any other relationships with the authors of the article.

Reviewers get acquainted with the abstract of the article, after which they agree or refuse to review this material. In case of refusal, other experts are appointed.

Reviewers study the material and assess its scientific level by filling out the “Reviewer Review” form, where they indicate their comments. Additionally, experts can upload files with a revised manuscript or materials that can be used when revising the article.

After filling out the “Reviewer Comment” form, the experts choose one of the proposed recommendations:

  • “accept the article” – the manuscript is ready for publication and is accepted without changes;
  • “return for correction” – the manuscript is accepted if the author corrects the indicated remarks;
  • “return for re-review” – revision and re-review are required;
  • “send to another journal” – the manuscript is suitable for another edition on the subject;
  • “reject the article” – the manuscript, according to the expert, does not meet the requirements of the publication;
  • “see comments” – none of the previous recommendations satisfies.

The review period should not exceed 4 weeks. Upon completion of the review process, all relevant information is sent to the author. The author finalizes the manuscript and uploads its new version to the journal system.

The reviewers re-examine the revised manuscript and give recommendations on the possibility of its further publication.

The decision on the timing of publication of an article that has received a positive assessment of the experts is taken by the Editorial Board.

In case of controversial issues, when the reviewers choose mutually opposite recommendations for the submitted manuscript (accept/reject), the editorial office contacts them and jointly considers all comments to agree on a position on the further publication of this material.

If the decision cannot be taken, the editorial office appoints an independent expert.
